The Giant Buddhas Belly has distinctive large swollen internodes and fat culms that grow out in a shape that resembles the iconic Chinese Buddha. It is important to leave a good space around the clump due to the shape and openess. Like most bamboos, the clump size can be kept smaller by breaking off new shoots that grow on the outside perimeter of clump. Reasonably drought resistant and can handle cold and rough conditions.
